Another Month Bites the Dust

I cannot believe almost a month has gone by since my last post.  I don't feel like time is on my side, but I'm so glad it's finally fall!  This has always been favorite time of year - cooler weather, fall foods, and the nearing holidays put me in the best of moods.  We've been extremely busy, which makes for lots of great memories, but I have no time to document them!  I have about a million pictures of Nolan and I'm trying to think of some great way to use them to remember her first year.  Thoughts, anyone? Not sure when I'll have time to sort through all of them though.

So here's what we've been up to over the past month.

We took Nolan to her first rodeo in the Fort Worth Stockyards! (Her shirt says "This ain't my first rodeo." even though it is.)

a trip to Fort Worth isn't complete unless you get serenaded at Joe T's

Kenlyn's 1st birthday party! (So many toys they didn't know what to do with themselves!)

First trip to Toys'R'Us for a walking toy!

 Don's birthday dinner:

Our trip to Cranial Technologies to discuss getting Nolan a helmet:

Brent and I went on our first trip without our Noly Poly.  It was hard to do and preparing for it was stressful.  The day before we left, Nolan woke up with a terrible cough. But she acted fine and wasn't running a fever.  The day we left Brent woke up feeling bad, so he made a quick trip to the doc.  I stopped this little stowaway and somehow we made it to our flight on time:

We spent one night in Miami at the Breakwater hotel in South Beach and had a nice dinner at A Fish Called Avalon:

 breakfast in South Beach
 Jellyfish on the beach!

 the largest beergarita ever!
and I'm pretty sure most expensive!

Then we took a three day cruise on Royal Caribbean to the Bahamas. It was our first cruise and I think we could get used to it!

 CoCo Cay:

 Nassau:

 Atlantis:

So happy to get home and see Nolan. She never acts like she misses us when we're gone, but I think she was pretty happy to see us!

Then we took her back to Cranial Technologies to be fitted for her helmet:
they put the pantyhose on her head to hold her hair down and then they take pictures to make a 3D image of her head; from that they make a model and fit it with a helmet that we'll pick up next week. She'll probably wear it for about 3 mos.

We tried In-N-Out Burger (no big whoop):

I took Nolan shopping in Canton (Note to self: do NOT go on a Friday in the fall... too crowded!)

Nolan was happy all day, but we later paid the price for the lack of naps:

We spent last weekend celebrating my MeMe's 80th birthday, first with brunch and then a family dinner! Happy birthday MeMe!  We love you!

she started clapping last weekend,
it must've been after the Aggie game though - we'll get em next time

Nolan enjoyed some fancy foods (crab cakes and more!)

A few more:
Nolan's not quite walking yet, but she loves to stand in the middle of the floor on her own and cruise around the furniture!
 such a big girl :)

playing with some old toys at MeMe's that used to be Uncle Steve's; the cow makes a noise when you squeeze the handle and it scared Nolan half to death!  I'll have to add that video soon!

I love this girl!
